ABOUT

My equestrian passion began to be realized in middle school. Through involvement in 4-H, my English riding developed, and I set my sights on pursuing a future in the equestrian field. While attending Lake Erie College, I competed on the IHSA team in hunter jumper and the IDA team in dressage.

Following graduation from Lake Erie College with a major in Equine Studies, I began my short career as a vet tech while simultaneously putting in a year of effort with my family to reconfigure a property in Sarver PA into what is now Fadeaway Farm.  2005 was a very busy year. Today, at Fadeaway Farm, I look to create an environment where both horse and rider can elevate their performance. Working with horses for over 20 years, I have found passion in restarting off-the-track thoroughbreds to help them find a second career in which they can thrive.

I first participated in the Retired Racehorse Project in 2017 and had two client horses entered. This competition format grants a limited number of months training period to work with a horse coming off the track. We competed in Field Hunter and Eventing. Both entered horses that I trained, and rode finished in the top three in their respective divisions out of nearly 100 horses in each division. I love the Retired Racehorse Project because I can showcase what can be done with ex-racehorses. With proper training, the horses are given new life and purpose.

The main disciplines I train in are Eventing and Dressage, and I utilize groundwork or horsemanship to make well-rounded horses that are very amateur friendly. I’ve trained my own horse from fresh off the track to the Preliminary level of Eventing and have obtained both my USDF Bronze and USDF Silver medal in Dressage.

My husband, Chris, and I live at our farm in Sarver where we run Fadeaway Farm’s boarding facility. I stay busy with plenty of horse training and teaching lessons at our facility as well as traveling to teach off site at other facilities. In our spare time we love camping, kayaking, going to concerts and visiting and trying new craft breweries.
